Agenda Items 8-23-12:

  • Diagnostic writing prompts are to be graded by the plus/delta system like last year. Each student will need a sticky note attached to the inside of the writing prompt. Please bring your completed class set to PLCs on Sept. 6th! These prompts will need to be filed in the district writing folder after we review them in PLCs on the 6th.
  • Science Studies Weekly Information- visit this site to register for Science Studies Weekly http://www.studiesweekly.com/ .You will need to register as a new user and create a password. It will also ask you for an invoice number. This number is the same for all grades: 98758.

  • Introduce K-2 Math Assessment Binders and layout.
  • Discuss the timeline for this set of assessments. These assessments will be used from now until December. A new set of assessments will be released for 2nd semester.
  • Review lesson plans and quarterly maps and align assessmtent tasks to the lesson plans. An assessment will need to be given after you have covered that standard or standards.
  • Students will be given a Developing Understanding score or a Complete Understanding Score. The teacher will record the score on the student record sheet and the class summary sheet.

  • Class summary sheets will need to be updated as assessment tasks are completed.
  • Class summary sheets will be brought to PLCs on the last Thursday of each month in order to look for trends and to make instructional plans.

Important Reminders:
  • Science kits will be picked up Oct. 3rd! Have them outside your door Oct. 2nd! (3rd grade will give their Earth, Moon and Sun kits to 1st grade.
