Reminders for cummulative folders:
  • Reading 3D reports must be placed in the cumulative folder
  • Technology profiles must be completed and placed in the cumulative folder

Technology plan for next 2012-2013:
    • One day in spring- one in fall where several 2 hour technology sessions will be offered throughout the day for tech credit.
    • First hour will be instruction/ 2nd hour will be for implementation
    • Everyone will be required to get 4 hours tech credit (2 classes) for the entire year

Important Announcements:
  • Today is the last day of Reading Tutors. Please turn in all materials to the front bookroom by next Friday. Remember K-2 will need to do Guided Reading or Words Their Way during this time while 3-5 works on EOG prep.

New Writing Expectations:
  • Teachers do strengths and weaknesses on a sticky note for each student
  • Teachers will look for common strengths and weaknesses among the grade level and chart common trends for that quarter on chart paper. Teachers will also use the information to plan writing mini-lessons and conferencing.

Important information:

  1. Saturday Academy invitations will need to be given to all ESL students scoring below 50% on the 2nd quarter assessment in both reading and math
  2. Make sure you sign these children up on the sign up sheet and reeturn invitations to Mrs. Brown
  3. PBIS data and IGPs are due by next Tuesday!!!
  4. Remember to schedule conferences with all students that have PEPs!
  5. We will begin the second semester schedule next Wednesday!
  6. Please inventory your new science kits by the end of the day Tuesday to let me know any missing items you have to have for this quarter. I also need to know when you need live materials for the grade level if your kit requires it this quarter.
  7. Writing Prompt Update: All K-5 students will be giving an opinion writing prompt in March. This will be the last district writing prompt for 3-5. K-2 will give an informational prompt in May. There will not be an informational prompt for 3-5 the month of February!
  8. Reading Tutor Information:
  • On Monday, January 23rd (Required Workday), there will be sign-up sheets in the lounge for you to place all your students into Reading Tutor groups based on your new assessment data. Please sign-up all your students by 1:00 on the 23rd. I will take all the lists and type them up and send them out that afternoon. This will ensure that all students are correctly leveled and accounted for before we start the new groups. We will be able to have an extra group since we have Jordan Parker. We will also be moving away from SRA to Reading Tutors K-5.
  • I will need to meet with all kindergarten and first grade teachers on the 24th to go over Reading Tutors (decide on time before you leave PLCs today)
  • ALL READING TUTOR MATERIALS MUST BE TURNED IN ON THE 20TH! PLEASE PICK UP YOUR NEW MATERIALS ON THE 24TH!

Agenda Items for 11-17-11 (K,1st, & 3rd)

  • Progress Reports go home Nov. 28th! K-2 will need to add new assessments for each subject like you did for the report card. You will have to do that each nine weeks.
  • Spelling Bee winners must be turned in to me by 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 22nd. You must email the two names from your class.
  • Spelling Inventory- I will need to meet with all grade levels before Thanksgiving to show you how to score your spelling. Please let me know when I can meet with your grade level!
  • Subs will be used for K-2 teachers the next time you give the math assessments. They will be in your room for a half day. I must have all feedback to make adjustments by next Tuesday. Thanks to the grade levels that have already turned them in!
